What is CBD

CBD (cannabidiol) is one of many components, called cannabinoids, of the hemp plant.  You will see if also referred to as CBD Hemp Oil, PCR Hemp, Hemp Extract, etc.. Unlike it's crazy psychoactive sister THC (from the marijuana plant), CBD has no effect on your cognitive functions. CBD is gaining more and more attention...

CBD benefits the body's endocannabinoid system which is responsible for promoting homeostasis. Homeostasis is a state in which your body's internal environment stabilizes as your external environment constantly changes.

Are Veda Vine Products Safe?

CBD has been shown in numerous studies to be well tolerated in humans. It is non-toxic and non-addictive. There is no known incidence of illness caused by consumption of CBD oil. Also, all of Veda Vine Organics products undergo rigorous testing to guarantee purity and potency.

Are Veda Vine Products 3rd Party Tested?

All Veda Vine Organics products go through a rigorous series of tests by third-party labs to assure purity and concentrations of cannabinoids. This includes testing to be sure that our products are completely free of any potential contaminants.

Broad Spectrum

Broad spectrum oil contains all of the balanced cannabinoids and terpenes but has all trace amounts of THC removed. This is what you want if you're looking for something guaranteed to contain no traceable, or 0.0% THC.

Cannabinoids

Cannabinoids are active compounds produced by all cannabis plants. They account for most of the health benefits of cannabis. Cannabinoids found in plants are technically called phytocannabinoids. Phytocannabinoids can mimic neurotransmitters that we call endocannabinoids, which are produced naturally by our bodies.

CBD

CBD is short for cannabidiol. It is just one of at least 113 different molecules known as cannabinoids found in the cannabis plant. CBD is thought to have significant medical benefits and does not make people feel "high.” It also acts as a neurotransmitter and is known to have anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties.

CBD Infused

Generally refers to a product infused with pure CBD, but is also used sometimes to refer to a full spectrum product.

CBD Oil

CBD oil is a natural oil which is extracted from the flowers and leaves of the cannabis plant variety. It is used by people all over the world as a dietary additive and for a variety of therapeutic purposes.

Drug Testing

Drug tests do not test for CBD. As long as you’re using products that are 100% THC free, you will not fail a drug test.  If you use Full or Broad Spectrum products that are not 100% THC free you run the risk of failing.

Endocannabinoid System

The human endocannabinoid system, or ECS, is a system of neurotransmitters and cell membrane receptors. Neurotransmitters such as endocannabinoids are produced by the central nervous system and interact with cannabinoid receptors on cell membranes to adjust physiological processes at a cellular level.

Entourage Effect

Veda Vine products do not produce the entourage effect because we use Broad Spectrum 100% THC free CBD.  You will pass a drug test but you will not experience the entourage effect.

Full spectrum CBD oil, contains a variety of cannabinoids and terpenes as well as other beneficial compounds. Each of the compounds has particular effects on the human body. Because terpenes can affect how the body responds to cannabinoids, the combined effect is often greater than the sum of the individual effects. The overall effect produced is known as the entourage effect.

Full Spectrum

Full Spectrum Oil retains the natural balance of cannabinoids and terpenes found in the original plant, because of this it can contain very trace amounts of THC but always < 0.3%, which is not enough to give you a "high".  Remember, for a plant to be called  hemp is has to contain <0.3% THC.

Hemp Oil vs. CBD Oil/Hemp Extract

Hemp Oil and CBD Oil are both made from the same plant. Hemp oil is very beneficial containing a lot of antioxidants and omega 3 and 6 fatty acids and is pressed from the seeds of the hemp plant, which means it does not contain the same amount of cannabinoids found in CBD oil or Hemp Extract which are extracted from the whole plant.  CBD extract or CBD Oil contains the beneficial cannabinoids.

Hemp Seed Oil

Simply the oil produced from hemp seeds, this is the one you cook with :-).  A pure hemp seed oil does not contain CBD.

Hemp vs. Marijuana Plants

there are two types of cannabis plants: Cannabis Sativa (hemp) and Cannabis Indica (marijuana), think about it like this: it's like the difference between a sweet potato and a russet potato, both are potatoes but they are different plants with different characteristics.  Sativa plants are taller and produce more fiber and are the species from which hemp belongs. Indica plants are shorter and bushier and less suitable for industrial farming (they are very delicate), but well-suited for producing medical marijuana.  For a plant to be considered hemp it has to contain <0.3% THC.

How Does CBD Work?

CBD can act as a neurotransmitter. Neurotransmitters help to regulate bodily systems at a cellular level. CBD has been shown to have effects on a wide array of systems in the human body, such as the immune system, the nervous system, the endocrine system, the cardiovascular system, the digestive system, the heart, liver, and kidneys, the epidermis and others. CBD is also known to have anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties.

How / Where Do I Start?

Start with a lower dose, 250mg tincture or a 10 - 25mg softgel, and add to your dose as needed. Once you have established your ideal dose, you can adjust your mg strength when purchasing to save money.  Instead of using two droppers of a 250mg tincture, purchase a 500 mg tincture and take one dropper.

The ideal method for taking CBD depends on the reason for which it’s being taken as well as other factors such as age and weight. If using CBD oil as a supplement for health maintenance, tinctures or capsules are recommended.    If treating a particular medical condition, consult with a qualified medical professional for advice on the ideal method of administration for your condition.

Is CBD a Cure?

CBD oil is used by many people to treat a variety of conditions. However, it has not been approved by the FDA in the treatment of any conditions aside from particular seizure disorders. Nonetheless, there have been numerous studies which suggest that CBD may be an effective therapy for a wide range of health issues, and many U.S. states have approved the use of CBD to treat many of these ailments. Consult with a qualified medical professional to determine if your condition is treatable with CBD.

Is CBD a Drug?

Although CBD is used as a component in a drug known as Epidiolex, which is used to treat seizure disorders, CBD oil is not considered to be a drug. Instead, it is a dietary supplement. Also, CBD does not cause a high like marijuana.

Is it Legal?

All Veda Vine CBD oil products are legal and can be shipped to all 50 U.S. states.

However, CBD oil made from marijuana can only be purchased in states with medical marijuana programs.  It is not legal in all states, we do not sell any products made with marijuana.

PCR HEMP

Another term you hear is CBD-rich oil. This term is used to label a CBD oil that has gone through some initial filtration and distillation steps to remove unwanted compounds such as chlorophyll and waxes. The resulting product has a higher concentration of CBD than the raw extract, hence the term CBD-rich oil.

Terpenes

Terpenes are a class of volatile hydrocarbon compounds produced in the flower clusters of the cannabis plant. Terpenes are what gives cannabis its distinct aromas and have been utilized by humans for millennia in a healing modality known as aromatherapy. Terpenes are recognized as safe for human consumption by the Food and Drug Association and are used in a wide variety of food and cosmetic products.

Tincture

A CBD tincture is a preparation made from CBD extract. It is used orally (swallowed) and sublingually (under the tongue). When used sublingually, CBD can be absorbed directly into the bloodstream via capillaries found in tissues in the mouth. When consumed orally it must pass through the digestive system, but it is also absorbed via the lining of the stomach.
